GoGuide Magazine demographic expanded overview
GoGUIDE is for the area’s vibrant and outgoing LGBTQ community. The LGBTQ community will always be our focus. However, the information inside the Magazine is so inclusive that most people pick up their copy of GoGUIDE or visit us online to see what’s "really" going on around town and the state. “All are welcome” at GoGuide Magazine. GoGuide Magazine places a heavy emphasis on local university communities.
Currently, GoGuide Magazine prints 3,750 copies each month. Of the 3,750 copies, 2,000 are located at high traffic locations in Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty. The remaining 1,250 are placed in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines. Presently, there are almost zero returns of the magazine each month.
Since GoGuide is so new (now in our third year) a formal demographic study of the magazine is yet to take place; however, that will change this spring. An outside source will do an anonymous survey or the GoGuide readership, and I will be able to better break down our exact readership for you.
I will tell you that in general readers of LGBTQ publications are very loyal and are very loyal to those that publicly reach out to the community and become very loyal customers of those businesses. The LGBTQ community and friends are also known to be early adopters. People willing to take chances and try new products and services. The early adopter is hard to reach and is considered to be a precious audience, “The vendor, benefits from receiving new revenues, and also from a customer's endorsement and assistance in further developing the product and its go-to-market mechanisms. Acquiring these customers is a common step in new product development and implementation. The real-world focus that this type of relationship can bring to a vendor can be precious.”
